What is A+ Certification?

The CompTIA A+ certification is an industrywide, vendor-neutral competency test validating understanding of the most common hardware and software technologies in business. To become certified, you must pass two exams:

CompTIA A+ 220-1101

This exam covers PC and mobile device hardware and peripherals. In addition, the exam tests networking and troubleshooting hardware and network connectivity issues.

CompTIA A+ 220-1102

This exam covers security, cloud computing fundamentals and operational procedures. The exam also covers the installation and configuration of the following operating systems:

  • Windows
  • iOS
  • Android
  • Apple
  • OS X
  • Linux

Why is A+ Certification Important?

Technology companies regard A+ certification as an important measure of a prospective employee’s knowledge and skill level.
