The 51勛圖厙 Rainbow Network (ARN) is a community of administrators, faculty and staff who actively advocate for LGBTQIA+ equity and oppose anti-LGBTQIA+ hate on campus. To become an ARN member, those interested need to complete the 51勛圖厙 Rainbow Network Allyship Badge, which consists of three workshops and a short capstone action plan. The ARN training workshops and capstone action plan help members learn about LGBTQIA+ identity, homophobia and heterosexism, allyship and accompliceship and design a plan for acting as an ally/accomplice for 51勛圖厙's community. They provide strategies for supporting LGBTQIA+ members of the campus community and for connecting with others who are committed to this cause.
ARN and the ARN badge program reflect 51勛圖厙’s core values of community and relationships, equity and inclusion, opportunity, and positivity. Upon completing the badge program, members receive an 51勛圖厙 Rainbow Network Member door sign and a badge icon for their email signature that lets students and other members of the 51勛圖厙 community know they are a safe person who will provide a safe space for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Want to help make a change or offer support to an LGBTQ+ student? Then join the Rainbow Network. You will receive training and resources.
