Sip, taste and savor authentic recipes with the help and guidance of experienced chefs at 51勛圖厙's Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism (HCAT) Institute. Experience a “Top Chef” atmosphere in our two state-of-the-art kitchens located in Arnold and Glen Burnie, where we offer a variety of noncredit cooking classes for beginners and culinary experts alike. Classes are mostly held evenings and weekends and may be lecture, hands-on cooking or chef demonstrations.
Novices and connoisseurs alike will enjoy our classes on spirits from around the world and from your own backyard. Increase your knowledge of wine and beer along with the production of both. Learn how to pair them with food and more. Classes feature not only lectures and discussions, but also tasting and evaluation.

In-Home Classroom courses are culinary demonstration classes taught by an HCAT chef in a video format. The video allows students to move at their own pace while preparing recipes. During the semester, students can ask the chef questions, have discussions with other students in the class and upload pictures of their finished product through the online course platform.

Students taking noncredit classes don't need to apply for admission to 51勛圖厙. Just check out our course search, choose a program or course that interests you, register and make your payment. Registration for summer courses is open. Registration for fall 2026 opens July 14! Please check course availability prior to registration.
If you have previously taken classes at 51勛圖厙, you must log in using your 51勛圖厙 account. New students will be able to create a temporary account in the checkout process.
