Would you like to work in a hospital or long-term care facility, assisting nurses and medical staff? Prepare to earn your license as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) with training from 51勛圖厙. Learn to perform duties such as answering patients' call lights, serving meals, making beds, and helping patients eat, dress and bathe. As a CNA, you’ll work shifts during the day, evening or overnight.

Cost

The total program cost for Anne Arundel County residents is $2,856. The cost of the Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification exam is not included in the course cost.

Requirements

  • First, attend a mandatory information session. .
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • The program requires study time outside of class and includes college-level texts. All tests must be passed prior to the start of clinical training. Clinical training requires written documentation of MMR and Varicella immunity, a negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last 12 months and Hepatitis B immunity or waiver and current flu and COVID vaccinations.
  • The Maryland Board of Nursing requires fingerprinting, background checks and drug screening for certification.

Note: High school diploma/GED® is not required but may be needed for employment.


Credentials

Students who successfully complete the training are eligible to apply for a CNA license from the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Students taking noncredit classes don't need to apply for admission to 51勛圖厙. Just check out our course search, choose a program or course that interests you, register and make your payment. Registration for summer courses is open. Registration for fall 2026 opens July 14! Please check course availability prior to registration.
